Job Description

Job Summary
St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School seeks a dedicated, dynamic and faith-filled leader to serve the community. The Coordinator of Catholic Mission, Identity and Culture fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by assisting the Principal in implementing school-wide projects, programs and initiatives supporting the overall Catholic Mission, Identity and Culture of St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School. The Coordinator of Catholic Mission, Identity and Culture has decision making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The position is hired and evaluated by the Principal.

Ministerial Character
The Principal is the visible foundation of the school which the Bishop has entrusted to the Principal. The Principal makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the school. In order to fulfill this mission, the principal employs suitable, chosen collaborators. The Principal shares with them Christ's mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.

Positions employed in the school help to extend the ministry of the Principal in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Principal in the performance of the Principal's ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.

Essential Duties
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese
- Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
- Supports the Principal in plans to ensure that the Catholic mission, identity, and culture of the school is evident
- Works with the Principal, faculty and staff, and student leaders to plan and conduct annual retreat experiences for students
- Works with the Principal in the facilitation of the School Chaplain program in partnership with St. Vincent de Paul Parish
- Supports the Principal in sponsoring catechetical formation and retreat experiences for the ongoing formation of faculty and staff
- Oversees and implements the school service program, tracking student service requirements
- Maintains and facilitates relationships with youth ministers and pastors at community parishes, other Catholic schools, and Catholic organizations
- Oversees planning and implementation of all campus formation activities throughout the year, including Vocations Week, Catholic Schools Week, Imago Christi Day, and Savio Feast Day
- Works with faculty, staff and student leaders to plan and conduct all liturgical celebrations, including weekly school Masses, monthly Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and Reconciliation services
- Coordinates the scheduling or priests and deacons for liturgical celebrations
- Supports designated faculty members in the work of Timothy Team and Christian Outreach
- Serves on and attends committee meetings for the Catholic Mission, Identity, and Culture Committee
- Attends and presents at community-wide events, including Admission events and other community events
- Works with the administration in the development of faith-centered programs that involve the entire Savio community
- Works with the Principal to ensure all faculty and staff meet required religious education requirements
- Maintains regular office hours to meet with students, faculty and staff in support of their ongoing formation and spiritual development
- Communicates regularly with the school community regarding the spiritual life of St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School
- Coordinates programs that assist students who are discerning religious vocations
- Oversees and manages the budget for Catholic Mission, Identity and Culture
- Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy
- Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese/local administration
- Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
- Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students and staff
- Collaborates with peers to enhance the work environment and support planning
- Conferences with others as needed and responds to messages in a timely manner

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church
- Knowledge of subjects taught, instructional methods/strategies, and curriculum differentiation
- Knowledge of child development, learning, and behavior
- Able to manage student behavior
- Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form

- Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Master's Degree in Theology required
- Meets the minimum requirements for position as set forth by the Diocese and TCCED

Experience:
- Previous experience in school or parish ministry

Certifications and Training:
- Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
