Job Description
Job Title: Parish Engagement CoordinatorReports to: Pastor/Business Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt/Full-time
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Coordinates the sharing of information pertinent to the parish and parishioners, events, Safe Environment and the technology that supports these roles.
• Designs, edits and publishes the weekly Sunday bulletin for the parish in time for printing/shipping.
• Schedules parish facilities and maintains calendar in Skedda. Coordinates the use of keys and opening/closing of locations.
• Coordinates scheduling events in conjunction with weddings and funerals. Communicate with family members of the deceased, the funeral home, and appropriate staff to set up the funeral.
• Responsible for coordinating and overseeing parish-wide events.
• Responsible for arranging upkeep of parish reception facilities and kitchen.
• Responsible for Parish Hall and St. Claire building rentals and facilitates cleaning of these areas after events.
• Collaborates with the Facilities Manager as needed for maintenance and repairs, and for the setup and takedown of parish facilities for events.
• Maintains an accurate staff calendar in Outlook.
• Interact with the parish IT provider to post content on reception TV monitors and manage the Livestream mass schedule.
• Serve as parish's first point of contact for individuals/groups regarding Safe Environment matters.
• Assist with the oversight, operation, and maintenance of the Safe Environment Program and policies, specifically the program's compliance monitoring and reporting.
• Work closely with parish staff and ministry leaders to ensure that clergy, religious, employees and volunteers are effectively screened and trained according to diocesan safe environment policies and procedures.
• Develops and manages record keeping procedures in alignment with the Diocesan Safe Environment Programs.
• Maintains databases for the purpose of tracking and reporting compliance for the parish.
• Regularly communicate updates of various Safe Environment topics to parish ministry leaders and staff.
• Work closely with Safe Environment facilitators in scheduling and implementing Safe Environment training as needed in the parish.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Training, and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree is preferred. High school degree or GED is required.
• Two to three years of related work experience, preferably in a church setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community or strong knowledge of and willing to function in a manner consistent with the mission of the Catholic Church
• Strong computer skills
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Software including Publisher
• Excellent organizational, customer service, and communication skills
• The ability to maintain confidentiality
• Detail-oriented
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work effectively
• Ability to compose correspondence, minutes and/or reports
Preferred Skills (Not required):
• Fluency in English is required. Additional fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) is preferred.
