Job Description
The Northwest Center, Inc.Executive Director
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for The Northwest Center's staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission.
Responsibilities:
1) Leadership & Management:
Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals.
Coordinate and lead the annual budget process; conduct monthly, quarterly and annual reviews, and periodic forecast updates. Actively engage and energize volunteers, board members, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders.
Maintain and build strong relationships with peers, key stakeholders, the media, and industry associations.
Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors; seek and build board involvement with strategic direction for ongoing operations as well as for programmatic growth.
Plan and prepare meeting structure and information for board meetings. including providing all information necessary for the board to function properly and to make informed decisions. Hire, lead, develop, support, and retain staff.
Ensure effective systems to track regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.
Evaluate program outcomes on an ongoing basis, using data and feedback from stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as high ethical standards.
2) Fundraising & Communications:
Expand revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and growth.
Deepen and refine all aspects of communications-from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
Be an external presence that publishes and communicates program results.
Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.
3) Planning & New Business:
Design and complete the strategic business planning process for program development and growth.
Maintain and build partnerships, establishing relationships with key organizations, funders, and community and political leaders.
