Job Description
Illinois Right to Life is seeking a CEO to lead Illinois Right to Life and Illinois Right to Life Action in pursuit of their mission to defend human life from conception to natural death. The CEO is primarily responsible for maintaining relationships with Illinois Right to Life's major donors, for raising the organization's annual revenue, for managing all board activities, and leading the organization in strategy and execution of the mission.We are a growing pro-life organization dedicated to protecting innocent human life from conception until natural death. Our work includes education of the public, direct aid to women and families in need, and advocacy. We are a non-sectarian, non-partisan organization and are committed to winning Illinois for life.
This role is a full-time, salaried position that includes optional healthcare and dental benefits.
This is a remote position.
Job duties:
- Lead the organization in pursuit of its mission to defend human life at all stages;
- Lead the organization's fundraising efforts through an active major donor program, direct mail, events, and online fundraising;
- Manage existing major donor relationships and initiate new donor relationships;
- Act as the face and voice of Illinois Right to Life to the public and the media;
- Work closely with the Chief of Staff to oversee all staff and day-to-day operations;
- Lead the board in developing strategy and execution of strategy;
- Conduct speaking engagements throughout Illinois as often as monthly;
- Daily operations as needed.
Requirements:
- Strong belief in and dedication to IRL's mission: to advocate for and educate on the value of all human life regardless of size, gender, race, age, or ability;
- At least 5-10 years of nonprofit leadership experience;
- A proven track record for fundraising and managing donor relationships;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Extensive knowledge of the pro-life movement and abortion information;
- General understanding of the legislative process and Illinois' existing abortion laws;
- Above-average judgement in speech and behavior;
- Prior experience with public speaking and media relations preferred;
- Must be able to travel in-state monthly;
- Must have a basic understanding of Quickbooks or an ability to learn;
- A demonstrated ability to work well with others.
