Business Manager

The linked parishes of Sacred Heart/Bay Head and St. Pio of Pietrelcina/Lavallette, New Jersey is seeking an experienced, full-time, Business Manager to function as administrator in support of the Pastor's responsibilities to the Parishes. This is a key Parish management position. The Business Manager works along with the pastor and other members of the leadership team to ensure the smooth operation of the parish which includes overseeing the Facilities, Financial and Personnel resources of the parish.

Job Qualifications

Candidates must have a strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, a proven ability to problem-solve and multi-task effectively, budget management, strong supervisory and interpersonal skills, computer knowledge, and a good understanding of the culture and structure of the Catholic Church.

A bachelor's degree in business administration (master's degree preferred), or a related field, plus 10 years of experience to include accounting and financial reporting, vendor management, and supervisory and payroll administration is required. A practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred. ParishSoft, Quickbooks, Microsoft Office are a plus.

Major responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial files and records, preparing and reviewing budgets, managing accounts payable, maintaining the general ledger, bank reconciliation, processing payroll, and presenting the parish finance activities to the Finance Council. Review contracts, leases, and insurance. Also manage the maintenance of parish buildings and grounds, ensure compliance with safety regulations, supervise parish capital improvement projects, and oversee the parish IT systems and infrastructure.

Employment is contingent on receiving a satisfactory background check and completing Virtus training. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. The range for this position is $55,000-65,000 per year plus benefits, including 403b match retirement plan, medical, dental, vision, PTO.
