Position Summary:
The Executive Director of Mission, in collaboration with the SCL Leadership Team and the Executive Directors of Communal Life and Resources, will support the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Community as it focuses on sustaining its mission and charism into the future.

The primary responsibility of the Mission Office is to oversee the coordination and communication of strategies and resources needed to implement the most recent SCL Chapter Directional Statement. The Mission Office, with dedicated staff, will assist the Community in developing, fostering, promoting, and communicating the initiatives, activities, processes, and structures necessary to further the mission and charism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Oversee and coordinate processes identified by the SCL Leadership Team needed for strategic mission planning, decision-making, and implementation of initiatives within established parameters.
*Lead strategic initiatives from strategy through execution.
*Coordinate with the executive team to ensure that the entire system has sufficient formation, context, information, and involvement for successful implementation. At times, it may be more appropriate to delegate processes or day-to-day work to relevant departments.
*Foster an environment that integrates the SCL commitment to sustaining and enhancing the future of the SCL mission and charism within Community life and beyond with ministries, partners in mission, organizations, structures, and operating practices of the Community.
*Promote formation of lay partners (SCL Associates and beyond) in the SCL charism for the future.
*Advocate for resources that enhance and support the necessary infrastructures for promoting the SCL mission priorities.
*Create metrics for measuring mission effectiveness and promoting accountability.
*Identify situations and propose options where the SCL mission locations or ministries are at risk of diminished mission effectiveness or are exemplary in promoting mission priorities.
*Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with the Offices of Communal Life, Communications, and Resources to promote and advance the SCL mission.
*Support mission outreach that explores collaboration opportunities with other organizations and communities. Explore new ministries and initiatives through the lens of integral ecology and the critical needs of God's people.
*Ensure there are dialogical opportunities with diverse and marginalized populations to explore and identify critical needs.
*Work with the entire executive team to provide feedback, input, and oversight to ensure all departments operate in a way that reflects the mission.
*Review new policies and procedures for mission alignment and best practices.
*Serve as the liaison from the Mission Office to the SCL Leadership Team on matters related to mission and ministry viability.
*Ensure the delegation, supervision, and advancement of strategic initiatives for all departments under supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
*Associate Director of Formation and Culture
*Associate Director of Program Integration
*Director of Marillac Retreat and Spirituality Center
*Director of Communication Office

Position Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree or higher; master's degree preferred.
*Minimum seven (7) years' experience in supervisory and strategic leadership in a faith-based mission and charism-driven organization.

Essential Attributes:
*Understanding of and sensitivity to the life of Catholic women religious with the ability to support the SCL philosophy of care, compassion, and concern.
*Understanding of and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching.
*Strong knowledge of and commitment to the SCL mission and the Vincentian charism.
*Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, and verbal / written communication skills.
*Able to create a team environment and work collaboratively.
*Able to create, modify, and implement structures based on a systems-thinking perspective.
*Highly effective communication and coaching skills, including the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
*Ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities.

*Capacity to learn, understand, structure, and manage the above duties of this position.

Physical Requirements:
*The ability to sit for extended periods of time and perform computer work.
*The ability to move around the office and perform tasks such as filing and retrieving documents.
*The ability to attend meetings in different locations within the campus.
*The position may also require occasional travel, which may involve sitting for extended periods on airplanes or in cars.
*Candidates should be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
*Candidates should have good vision and hearing, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
