Job Description

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School is a school located in New Albany, Indiana. New Albany is situated along the Ohio River opposite of Louisville, Kentucky. We are actively seeking a principal beginning with the 2026-2027 academic school year. We serve a pre-school-8th grade enrollment of approximately 375 students within a Christ-centered and nurturing environment, and are dedicated to the spiritual and academic development of the whole child. Our multi-faceted curriculum prepares our students for a life-long commitment to education, the Catholic faith, and stewardship, and we are blessed with an outstanding teaching and administrative staff, and the support of engaged and invested parents. We are also blessed to be part of a faith-filled Catholic parish.

As administrative head of Our Lady of Perpetual Help's school ministry, our principal has chief responsibility for the operations of the school, and for following policies and guidelines established by the Office of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, including the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Schools (NSBECS).

Summary of Position Duties

The successful candidate's duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
* Primary school ministry representation to parents, pastoral leadership, Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish, and the community-at-large.
* Responsibility for building and reinforcing a strong Catholic culture thorough faith-based leadership.
* Vocational leadership that includes a well-established presence at parish and school events.
* Development and maintenance of an academic curriculum that meets all objectives and requirements of NSBECS, and which evolves as necessary to stay at the forefront of the educational field.
* Responsibility for budgeting and financial management.
* Responsibility for professional development and leadership of the faculty and staff.

Summary of Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this position, a candidate must:
* Be a practicing Catholic in good standing (as verified by pastoral leadership of a diocesan or archdiocesan parish).
* Be dedicated to the development and preservation of Catholic identity within our school, including by the lived example of a well-practiced Catholic faith.
* Possess exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
* Exhibit a passion for student achievement and academic excellence.
* Be skilled at hiring, training, and retaining teachers and staff, with a passion for building and developing a culture of spirituality, shared goals, enthusiasm, and teamwork.
* Possess a valid administrator's license.
* While qualified candidates of varying experience levels will be considered, the ideal candidate will be seasoned, experienced, and comfortable in positions of leadership that require confident, consistent, reasoned, and decisive judgement.
