I. Title: Coordinator of Adult Catechism
Status: 25-32 hours a week (Salary-Hourly)
Supervisor: Pastor
Supervise: Volunteers

II. Primary Functions
At St. Mary of the Knobs, we are committed to making disciples and living as disciples. The Coordinator of Catechetical Ministry for adults plays a vital role in fostering a parish culture where all ages grow in faith, live as missionary disciples, and participate fully in the life of the Church.
III. Position Content
The Coordinator of Adult Catechism supports the mission of St. Mary of the Knobs to form disciples of Jesus Christ by providing vision, leadership, and adult learning of the Catholic faith. The ideal candidate is a faithful Catholic who is gifted in relational ministry, passionate about evangelization, and possesses exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Order of Christian Initiation Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA):
• Recruits Team Members
• Recruits Sponsors as needed
• Provides Formation and Training for Team
• Schedule and provide materials for OCIA sessions.
• Organize Interviews Inquirers working with the Pastor
• Coordinates/plans the Rites with Priest
• Hold separate sessions or in-home preparation for those 9th grade and older beyond typical sacramental preparation years.
• Responsible for the acquisition and verification of all baptismal records

Forming Disciples
• Bible Studies
• Faith Sharing Groups: Mothers, Fathers, Family, Single, etc.
• Act as a liaison for existing programs regarding materials, facility use, and budget
• Create opportunities for young adults in the age range of 25 to 35 to learn, connect,
and discover their faith.

Outreach and Service Commission
• Work with the Outreach and Service Commissions to increase awareness of those in need with education, opportunities in the community, and the parish.
• Be in contact with the Catechism Commission to collaborate in the mission of forming and making disciples.

Bereavement Committee/Seasons of Hope:
• Support the Seasons of Hope Small Group
• Reach out to those grieving a loss of a loved one with events, educational sessions, and personal communication
