Job Description
The Associates of St. John Bosco is seeking a highly organized, self-starting, mission-driven Part-Time Program Assistant to support development, events, and program operations. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the Church's mission of evangelization to young people, enjoys building relationships, and thrives in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment. This is a remote position, but applicants should be based in Northern Virginia because some in-person events are required. Donor Relations
-Oversight of the monthly donor program
-Reactivating lapsed and paused people
-Monthly donor emails to show impact of their giving
-Bi-annual monthly donor thank you calls
-Identifying people in ASJB donor database who could be asked to give monthly
-Helping draft letters for donor mailings and newsletters
-Donor thank you calls
-Maintaining a development and communications calendar for writing, editing, and sending emails (via MailChimp)
Student Programming
-Oversight of the Ambassador Program
-Recruitment and formation of Freshmen and Upperclassmen Ambassadors
Event Planning
-Helping Executive Director plan to the Youth Minister (3) and Chaplains' lunches (1) - seasonal
-Helping with Bosco Benefit
-Logistical help day-of/week-of (subject to more throughout the year, as needs arise)
Administrative
-Helping with the administrative side of RISE Awards. Including but not limited to:
-Overseeing communications and follow-up with the RISE Awards recipients
-Overseeing the RISE Awards inbox
-Processing applications,
-Notifying CCMs about acceptance into next round,
-Researching CCMs for ASJB to outreach to, etc.
-Maintaining RISE CCM database
Qualifications & Skills
-Self-starting and self-motivated
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Comfort with donor outreach, including phone calls and fundraising conversations
-Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
-Able to follow through on deadlines
-Proficiency with tools such as Google Workspace and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) preferred
-Alignment with ASJB's Catholic mission and values
Estimated Time
-10-15 hours per week, between the hours of 9am and 6pm. Some evening meetings may be expected.
-Some times of the year may be higher or lower hours.
