Job Description
Holy Redeemer is a rapidly growing parish just west of Fort Worth, blessed with a large and vibrant population of young people. We are seeking a full-time Youth and Young Adult Ministry Coordinator. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape and expand a dynamic ministry-building on existing strong participation and guiding youth and young adults into deeper, intentional discipleship.We are seeking someone who is passionate about accompanying young people, fostering authentic relationships, and helping them encounter Christ in a meaningful and lasting way. The position is ideal for someone with zeal for ministry work. Candidates should be eager to take initiative, develop programs, and grow a ministry at an exciting stage of expansion.
Ministerial Information: Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry is responsible for the active development of a catechumenal approach to evangelization and catechesis for 6th-12th grade students and young adults at Holy Redeemer. Under the supervision of the director of religious education, this includes coordination, supervision, and implementation of relevant and engaging content to transform the hearts of youth and young adults, rooting them into the Church.
Principal Accountabilities:
Develops and implements sound catechetical curriculums in the area of evangelization, catechesis, doctrine, liturgy, sacraments, moral life and prayer so as to foster discipleship in Christ. Seeks to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community. Creates original content catered to the needs of the parish
Promotes programs in a way that continually draws new youth and young adults to engage and participate.
Reviews and complies with the catechetical/sacramental and Safe Environment guidelines set forth by the pastor and the Diocesan Bishop (communicated through the Diocesan Department of Evangelization and Catechesis).
Facilitates the confirmation program for eligible teens and adults.
Plans and facilitates all aspects of retreats and social activities for Holy Redeemer Youth and Young Adults at the direction of the Director of Religious Education
Participates in Diocesan supported programs for Youth and Young Adults.
Coordinates, recruits, screens, motivates and equips volunteer leaders/core team members to serve in youth and young adult ministry.

Parishioners, diocese vendors, local, state, and federal agency representatives, and auditors.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
This position works in a typical office environment but is subject to stress due to the evolving and quickly expanding needs of the Diocese, tight deadlines and moderate workloads.
May be required to work some nights and weekends.
Ability to sit and perform computer work for lengthy periods of time.
Able to access and maintain centralized departmental files. Involves extending arms and reaching files stored in multiple levels on shelves, climbing up a stepladder to access files.
Ability to accept work interruptions while remaining focused on duties.
Data entry via computer keyboard requires repetitive and frequent hand and wrist movements.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and up to 60 pounds with assistance.
Travel Requirements:
Infrequent travel, by car, may be required to Diocese Parishes and/or schools.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Practicing Catholic, faithful to the Magisterium and in good standing with the Catholic Church.
Must be fully initiated Catholic in good standing, actively participating in the liturgical life of the church.
Bachelor's degree is preferred in Religious Studies or related field. Or equal years of experience in FOCUS, NET or Campus Ministry.
3-5 years experience is preferred in the areas of evangelization, catechetics, religious education and teaching.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of the Catholic Church, Catholic sacraments, Catholic rites and liturgies
Knowledge of the application of the Catechumenal model (OCIA) as the central method of teaching the Catholic faith.
Skilled at strategic planning.
Requires working some nights and weekends.
Excellent administrative, organizational, facilitation, research and process skills.
Ability to coordinate, motivate, and support volunteers.
Ability to work with youth to ensure their safety and development by applying sound and effective policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to listen empathetically, make peace, and de-escalate
Demonstrated history of good judgement.
Demonstrated aptitude for adaptability and flexibility.
Ability to use various computer software programs; strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Word and Excel.
Ability to use various office machines (copier, fax, phones, calculator, scanner, etc.) or ability to learn.
Ability to meet deadlines and follow directives from Pastor and Director of Religious Education in a timely manner.
Ability to receive, understand, retain, and complete verbal and written tasks.

Ability to work well with people from a diverse variety of audiences.
Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills.
Familiarity with catechetical resources for youth and young adults, and for catechist training.
Ability to obtain Safe Environment training as directed by the Diocese of Fort Worth
