Saint John Vianney Center is seeking a passionate and relationship-driven Director of Mission Advancement to lead fundraising and donor engagement efforts in support of our mission and ministry. This leadership role is responsible for developing meaningful partnerships with existing and new donors, increasing financial investment in Saint John Vianney Center and building an increasingly strong network of stakeholders to advance the organization's long-term growth and impact.

This role reports to the President/CEO of Saint John Vianney Center and works closely with our Board of Directors. The Director of Mission Advancement spends considerable time growing and stewarding donors, partners, and prospects to secure major and transformational gifts for our service to the Church. The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator, skilled fundraiser, and mission-focused professional who thrives on building relationships and connecting people to a meaningful cause

Primary Responsibilities
• Manages a portfolio of donors and prospective major donors by leading in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship; maintains current documentation of activity.
• Develops and strengthens relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations.
• Spends a large amount of time networking with donors to develop relationships and cultivate donors locally and nationally.
• Oversees the creation of donor-related materials including print and electronic appeals and stewardship communication.
• Collaborates with the Center's Board of Directors to coordinate baseline annual fundraising targets with organizational strategic objectives and budget.
• Lead and develop a project plan for special events.
• Provide timely notice to the business and finance office of impending gift requests to ensure a clear path of accounting and procedures.
• Conducts and records the outcome of a measurable number of face-to-face visits with donor prospects to solicit major and planned gifts.
• Prepares written and verbal proposals, concept, and informational materials, endowment and planned giving agreements, and other materials needed to secure major gifts in collaboration with colleagues, as appropriate.
• In collaboration with the President, solicits a measurable number of major gifts while growing a passage of new opportunities to support future major gift solicitations.
• Represents the organization publicly to strategically grow the community of stakeholders, working with other staff to coordinate strategic meetings and small-scale events as needed.
• In coordination with the President creates opportunities to increase the visibility of the Center through strategic partnerships, events, and special initiatives as schedule and budget permit.
• Develops and is responsible for the implementation of the Mission Advancement Plan in consultation with the Board of Directors and President.
• Manages grant writing proposals and actively seeks foundations to support mission advancement.
• Oversees the donor management software systems and actively collaborates with Outreach department to ensure integrity of data.
• Communicates regularly with the Board of Directors and President to strategize about the status of stewardship, prospecting, proposals, and appeals; evaluates areas needing focus
• Meets regularly with Board members to cultivate and solicit major gifts for organization work and to grow our network of new investors.

Qualifications
• Passion for and alignment with the mission and values of Saint John Vianney Center.
• At least five years of relevant experience in fundraising, development, nonprofit advancement, or donor relations preferred
• Personal track record of success in reaching and exceeding fundraising goals.
• Knowledge and experience in working with Clergy and Religious.
• Demonstrated project management, organization, delegation, and prioritization skills.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience with donor management systems, Microsoft Office, creation and production of digital print materials and fundraising communications required
