Job Description

What if your job was to help answer the call?

Every year, young men and women discern a vocation to the priesthood or religious life - and then discover they can't enter formation because of student loan debt. The Fund for Vocations exists to remove that barrier. We are growing rapidly, and we are looking for a mission-driven Donor Engagement Officer to help us reach more of the people who want to be part of this work.

The Role

This is a relationship-focused fundraising position at the heart of our development program. You will manage a portfolio of mid-level donors, building genuine one-on-one relationships that deepen their engagement with our mission and grow their financial partnership over time. You will help launch and manage donor clubs, identify major gift prospects, and organize small donor gatherings across the country.

This is not a cold-calling job. Our donors already believe in what we do. Your role is to meet them where they are, tell them the story of what their giving makes possible, and invite them to do more.

Core Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors through personalized outreach and relationship-building
- Solicit upgrades and additional gifts through one-on-one conversations
- Launch and manage donor clubs to foster loyalty, community, and recurring support
- Identify major gift prospects and coordinate next steps with the Executive Director
- Ensure strong stewardship, communication, and CRM tracking
- Organize, execute, and attend small group gatherings around the country

You Are a Fit If You:
- Have 2-5 years of nonprofit fundraising or donor relations experience, ideally within a Catholic organization
- Are a warm, natural conversationalist who genuinely enjoys people and isn't afraid to ask for a gift
- Feel a personal connection to the mission of supporting vocations in the Catholic Church
- Are organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment

Compensation
- Salary: $70,000-$80,000 depending on experience
- Simple IRA with 3% match
- Health insurance stipend
- Professional development opportunities
- A small, faithful, and joyful team

To Apply
Send your resume and a brief note about why this mission resonates with you to mary@fundforvocations.org

Offers of employment are conditioned upon satisfactory criminal history background check and reference checks.

About the Employer

The Fund for Vocations helps young men and women who have been accepted into priestly or religious formation but are barred from entering due to student loan debt. We do this by assuming their monthly student loan payments while they are in formation and paying off their loans entirely after they take final vows. It works - and it is changing lives. We have been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, EWTN, Aleteia, and Philanthropy Daily.
