Job Description

Position Summary
Immaculate Conception and St. Patrick Churches are seeking a passionate, faith-filled leader to oversee all catechetical ministries and support evangelization efforts. The Director will oversee missionary discipleship and lifelong formation programs, ranging from youth religious education to adult discipleship, while fostering a culture of missionary discipleship across both parishes. This individual would be passionate in their faith, enthusiastically committed to formation for all ages, and willing to serve as a spiritual leader and role model. They will be expected to have a strong on-site presence, both in the office and at programs.

Primary Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Vision

Oversee the entire Catholic Formation department, establishing strategic goals for growth and departmental excellence.
Develop strategies to reach, invite, and integrate new members and inactive Catholics, including OCIA, small faith communities, and outreach initiatives.
Foster strong relationships with parish staff, the Diocese of Superior, and St. Mary School to ensure unified formation efforts. Represent the parishes at various meetings and conferences pertaining to formation.
Represent the department at Pastoral and Finance Council meetings as needed.
Attend to the active parishioners, the inactive community, and the unchurched to foster conversion and growth in discipleship among the faithful, developing a welcoming community, equipping parishioners to evangelize by witness, word, and action, and enhancing communication within and beyond the parish community.

2. Program Management & Catechesis

Supervise and monitor all parish religious education and Catholic formation programs within our two parishes. Oversee and help to develop and implement curricula for 3-year-grade 12 catechetical and faith formation and adult formation.
Oversee the coordination and coordinate, when necessary, all sacramental preparation for Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, and OCIA/OCIC.
Ensure a strong on-site presence, particularly during Wednesday evening programs and weekend events.
Coordinate parish evangelization initiatives and innovate events/opportunities provided for the parish. This may serve as a point of entry for those who are not Catholic to enter and begin participating in the parish community and transition to the process of approaching the sacraments through OCIA.
Work with volunteers when available to ensure adult faith formation programs and activities.

3. Personnel & Volunteer Development

Recruit, hire, train, and supervise catechists, staff, and volunteers.
Provide ongoing spiritual and professional development for volunteers and CF team, ensuring they meet diocesan certification requirements.
Manage employee performance programs and departmental budgets.
4. Administration & Compliance

Maintain accurate records, manage registrations, and coordinate the program calendar.
Collaborate with the communications team for parish-wide announcements and outreach.
Ensure all programs adhere to Safe Environment policies.

Qualifications
Faith & Education
Essential: A practicing Roman Catholic in full sacramental communion with the Church, living as a spiritual role model.
Certification: Must possess or be willing to obtain elevated religious certification from the Diocese of Superior.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in theology, religious education, pastoral ministry, or a related field.

Experience & Skills
Management: Proven experience in leadership, volunteer management, and budgeting.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, public speaking confidence, and excellent written communication.

Technical:
Proficiency in MS Office, QuickBooks, and social media platforms; experience with ParishStaq is a plus.

Background:
Previous experience with K - 12 teaching, NET, Totus Tuus, or other Catholic faith formation of any age is highly desirable.

Evangelization:
Experience in evangelization and faith formation working within a parish or religious organization. ~and/or~ An evangelizer, yourself, who can share experiences of "being a disciple, and making disciples" in line with our parish mission statement.

Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and reach.
Ability to lift/move up to 10 lbs frequently and 30 lbs occasionally.
Must have a valid driver's license for occasional travel.
