Parish Administrative Assistant (Practicing Catholic, Part-time)SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant is a critically important member of the parishes' staff who reports to the Pastor and is able to manage multiple and varied projects and tasks. The position works by supporting the Pastor with his daily tasks as well as coordinating and administering the daily work of the parish office. The Assistant must have good, professional oral and written communication skills; be able to organize work using tools like Microsoft Office; and possess basic knowledge of office equipment, such as phones and printers. The Assistant executes the role in the service of the greater goal of advancing the authentic Christian mission of the parishes and a deeper living of the Gospel in the lives of parishioners. This individual is a practicing and devoted Catholic with a deep desire to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Strong personal organization and efficiency with ability to multitask well.
Good interpersonal skills, is problem-solving and innovative, and works well with others
Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Strong competence in Microsoft Office suite
Sufficiently knowledgeable in the life of the Catholic Church, including terminology, liturgical year, and devotions
Able to learn software to design bulletin and other flyers
Preferably, 2-3 years experience in fields related to administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Office:
Answering and directing phone calls and visitors
Supporting Pastor as needed, including organizing and scheduling appointments
Sort and distribute office mail.
Maintains digital calendars to ensure proper coordination
Coordinate purchase of office supplies
Communications:
Ensure communication by means of numerous media, including: design of bulletin; posting on Facebook and the MyParish App; and updating the website
Act as parish contact for The Record and Diocesan Communications and other 3rd party communications media.
Ensure consistent communication between school and parishes.
Record-keeping:
Maintain ParishSoft database, including: crediting families for contributions (tithing, donations, Mass stipends, etc.); updating changes to biographical information as requested; inputting annual tithing pledges; and granting and revoking access for users.
Register new parishioners and assist them as needed.
WORKING FOR THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
Employment in and by the Church is substantially different from secular employment. This position requires that the employee be a practicing Roman Catholic.
