Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to help inner city ministry THRIVE? Are you willing to radically love those around you? Vagabond Missions is looking for a Mentor and Discipleship Coordinator ready to recruit and equip local mentors and model ministry with teens, helping a successful inner-city ministry reach even more hearts in the Philadelphia, PA community. Mentor and Discipleship Coordinators are motivated to see the Gospel shared in the city they serve through direct discipleship with inner-city teens, recruiting and training quality mentors, and integrating local involvement with teens for a fulfilling experience of the Catholic faith in their life.

This position will report to the Philadelphia Area Director, and collaborate with the Program Director and missionaries.

Required Qualifications
- Strong leadership, vision casting, and team building abilities
- A deep love for Jesus Christ and a passion for serving at-risk youth
- Experience in youth ministry and discipleship preferred
- Ability to fundraise and build donor relationships
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Management experience and administrative skills to lead mentors
- Commitment to the mission and values of Vagabond Missions

Responsibilities
- Mentor Recruitment and Training: Organize and execute local recruitment efforts to attract new volunteers and mentors; Plan and execute an annual training retreat for all volunteers and mentors; Facilitate monthly 1:1 meetings as well as monthly group meetings with mentors for guidance, formation, and support; Ensure that mentors are equipped to lead programs like Breakout or Worship, Bible studies and small groups, as well as general relationship building and discipleship efforts by using engaging resources and clear communication; Connect and partner with other local services to ensure mentors have access to resources for the various teen's needs
- Youth Discipleship and Engagement: Work weekly in direct discipleship with teens, focusing on personal spiritual growth and mentorship; Model ministry and discipleship practices for mentors; Engage with teens relationally, maintaining a presence in various programs, contact work, and regular relationship building opportunities to meet teens where they are and foster a sense of belonging
- Fundraising and Budgeting: Personally support raise salary and communicate regularly with donors, utilizing the organization's fundraising training and methodology to cultivate relationships; Support fundraising initiatives that directly fund program operations and expansion; Be a good steward of annual ministry budget

Salary & Benefits
- Hybrid salaried pay (personal support raising combined with VM stipend.
- Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance plans offered along with the option to make voluntary deferrals into a 403(b).
- Flexible but predictable work schedule
- Time off includes: 12 days paid vacation, 10 days off between Christmas and New Years, Certain federal holidays or holy days given off throughout the year, Monthly Spiritual Day
- Option to obtain a MA in Theology from Franciscan University for 50% tuition
