Job Description

Job Title: Events Manager
Location: Diocese of Peoria, Spalding Pastoral Center
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role
Event Manager ("EM") is an exciting new role within the Diocese. The EM will own, oversee and execute all major responsibilities related to creating, hosting, promoting and running Diocesan fundraising and social events. Events range from major in-person gatherings to smaller in-person events to digital events all designed to support the Diocese.
What You Will Do:
• Planning, Producing and Managing Events for Diocese and Diocesan Foundations
• Coordinating with stakeholders, venue and third-parties
• Supervising vendors, staff and volunteers for events
• Identifying and soliciting sponsors, vendors and contractors for events
• Relationship building
• Managing ticketing and fundraising efforts at events (in coordination with Development and Communications Department)
• Promoting events (in coordination with Diocesan Communications Dept)

Education and Experience:
• Associate's degree or higher or proven experience and success with events, and or
• 2 to 7 years' experience managing events

What You Need:
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Experience running in-person events
• Experience running virtual events (preferred not required)
• Experience operating and managing ticketing platforms
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Creative thinking demonstrated by past successes
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Proven ability to work effectively in teams
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing fundraisers, ministry events, concerts, banquets, webinars, etc
• Track record promoting events
• Social Media experience
• Sales Experience
• Marketing Experience
• Familiarity with the Catholic faith, catholic parish/diocesan and nonprofit structures

Physical and Work Requirements:
• 8:30 to 4:30 pm Office Hours with occasional event specific requirements for nights and weekends
