Job Description

Position: President, Bright Futures Schools
Status: Exempt, Full-time
Reports to: Superintendent of Schools

Position Objective
The Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph is seeking a President for the Bright Futures Schools, a system of three schools that collaborate to steward resources wisely while promoting academic excellence and the spiritual, moral, physical, and emotional development of their students. The President, a person of deep faith and strong Catholic values, oversees the external affairs of the school system and is responsible for ensuring adequate resources and long-term financial stability through oversight of business operations, development, alumni relations, community relations, and enrollment management. The President also promotes the mission and reputation of the schools and serves as the primary liaison between the schools, the Bright Futures Board, and the Diocese. This full-time position reports to the Diocesan Superintendent of Schools.

Essential Duties
• Provides visionary leadership for the Bright Futures Schools in alignment with the mission of Catholic education in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph.
• Serves as the chief spokesperson for the Bright Futures Schools, providing visible, personal leadership and articulates and promotes Bright Futures.
• Cultivates relationships with donors, foundations, business partners, and community stakeholders to support the mission and growth of the Bright Futures Schools.
• Engages families and alumni to build community and long-term support for the Bright Futures Schools.
• Leads and implements strategic enrollment management efforts to increase and stabilize student enrollment for Our Lady of Hope and Holy Cross.
• Conducts development and fundraising efforts on behalf of the Bright Futures Schools, including but not limited to grants, planned giving, School Bell Breakfast, and other special events.
• Ensures Bright Futures Schools operate in a fiscally responsible and sustainable manner by developing, in collaboration with the principals, CSO, and CFO, the annual budgets for each school and providing regular oversight and budget management to Our Lady of Hope and Holy Cross.
• Supervises and supports school leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
• Promotes a strong Catholic identity across the Bright Futures Schools, supporting spiritual and moral formation of students and staff.
• Coordinates with the Bright Futures Board both short and long-range strategic plans for the Bright Futures Schools.
• Ensures compliance with diocesan policies, accreditation standards, and legal requirements.
• Preserves the maintenance and safety of the school plant according to local, state, diocesan and Catholic Schools Office policies and directives.
• Collaborates with principals and CSO on an on-going basis throughout the year with attention to vision of the Bright Futures Schools.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Applies a Catholic world view to the daily activities of the President of the Bright Futures Schools.
• Make timely, well-reasoned decisions; intelligently analyze issues and balance fact-based analysis with intuition, information, and experience.
• Identifies and implements strategic priorities and initiatives identified by the Bright Futures Board of Directors and the Diocese of Kansas City - St. Joseph.
• Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the financial and facility needs of the Bright Futures Schools.
• Understands state requirements and government-funded programs.
• Earn others' trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions.
• Use strong verbal and written communication skills to build effective relationships, exchange information clearly and concisely and to deliver new concepts, opinions, and ideas in a professional manner.

Basic Qualifications
• Master's degree with minimum of 5 years relevant experience in leading a large organization.
• Experience should include most, if not all, of the following areas: marketing, fundraising, development, and strategic planning.
• Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Willing and able to travel to school campuses and deanery parishes.
• Evening and weekend obligations are required.
