Middle School Language Arts Teacher (Full-Time, Permanent Position)
Royal Palm Academy - Naples, Florida
Grades 6, 7, and 8
School year: 2026-2027
Salary range: $52,000-$72,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Royal Palm Academy, a joyful and thriving independent Catholic PK-8 school in North Naples, Florida, is seeking a full-time Middle School Language Arts Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a permanent faculty position responsible for teaching reading and grammar to students in Grades 6, 7, and 8.

Our middle school program emphasizes strong academics, thoughtful instruction, personal responsibility, and the formation of our middle school students during a critical stage of their development.

This position is designed for a teacher who loves literature, language, and middle school students, and who understands the importance of clarity, structure, and high expectations in middle school classrooms.

Position Overview
The Middle School Language Arts Teacher is responsible for teaching reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary development, and foundational writing skills to students in Grades 6 through 8. The teacher designs lessons that are engaging, age-appropriate, and academically rigorous, while supporting students' growth as readers, writers, and critical thinkers.

The Middle School Language Arts Teacher works closely with middle school colleagues, division leadership, and student support staff. This is a full-time, on-campus teaching position that follows the academic calendar.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction and Curriculum
• Teach reading and grammar to students in Grades 6, 7, and 8.
• Plan and implement lessons aligned with Royal Palm Academy's curriculum and academic standards.
• Select and teach age-appropriate texts that foster comprehension, discussion, and critical thinking.
• Provide clear, structured grammar instruction that supports strong written and verbal communication.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.

Assessment and Student Growth
• Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
• Support students in developing strong study habits, organization, and responsibility.

Classroom Culture and Student Formation
• Establish a classroom environment rooted in respect, clarity, and accountability.
• Maintain age-appropriate classroom management and behavioral expectations.
• Support students' social and emotional growth during the middle school years.
• Serve as a positive role model for adolescents in words and actions.

Catholic Identity and Mission
• Teach and act in accordance with the doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Support the Catholic identity of the school through example, prayer, and participation in the life of the community.
• Embrace and support the mission, philosophy, and culture of Royal Palm Academy.

Professional Collaboration
• Collaborate with fellow middle school teachers to support interdisciplinary learning and student success.
• Participate fully in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
• Communicate professionally and proactively with parents and caregivers.
• Contribute positively to a collegial, mission-driven faculty culture.

Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in English, Education, or a related field strongly preferred.
• Middle school or upper elementary teaching experience strongly preferred.
• Experience teaching reading, grammar, or language arts at the middle school level is highly valued.
• Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred but not required.
