Position Overview
The Director of Special Projects is a dynamic, utility-player role designed to support Leadership Roundtable's most critical organizational priorities.
The Director of Special Projects will have a dual reporting line to both the Senior Director and the Executive Partner. As such, s/he will serve as the central operational liaison for executive leadership - helping to coordinate key workstreams, facilitate communication and follow-through, and ensure the affairs of the executive team run smoothly.
In addition to this coordinating role, the Director of Special Projects takes ownership of key functions spanning convenings and events, development support, and special organizational initiatives as they arise.
The ideal candidate exhibits strong problem-solving abilities, and will possess excellent communication skills to ensure the seamless execution of special projects that advance Leadership Roundtable's strategic objectives and long-term vision.
This is a director-level position suited for a highly organized and adaptable nonprofit professional who thrives in fast-moving, cross-functional roles and is equally comfortable driving strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute.
This position is full-time and remote, with travel required for events and convenings.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support, Board Management, and Strategic Operations
Serve as a trusted operational assistant to executive leadership, supporting priority projects and ensuring follow-through on key organizational commitments and opportunities
Collaborate with senior leadership to anticipate the needs of executive leadership, proactively managing their time, information, and action items related to strategic initiatives
Help coordinate the work of the leadership team, facilitating communication and follow-through across functions
Support executive leadership in preparing for board meetings, which may include coordinating logistics, compiling briefing materials and board packets, helping to draft talking points, and managing follow-up communications on their behalf
Draft correspondence, reports, presentations, and other materials on behalf of executive leadership
Convenings & Events Management
Lead end-to-end logistical planning and execution of Leadership Roundtable's events, including annual convenings and various fundraising events
Manage logistics, timelines, vendor relationships, and budgets for events in collaboration with other key directors and team members
Contribute to post-event synthesis, reporting, and follow-up communications
As-Needed Development & Fundraising Support
Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events
Support the Managing Partner and development team in donor cultivation activities, including preparing briefing materials, talking points, and follow-up correspondence
Contribute to grant reporting, donor communications, and other development projects as needed
Help identify and track donor engagement opportunities in coordination with leadership
Special Projects & Initiatives
Lead or support special organizational projects which may span program, communications, partnerships, or operations
Requirements
Successful Candidates Must Have/Be:
Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree a plus
10 years of relevant experience in nonprofit operations, events management, and/or executive administration, with demonstrated progression in responsibility
Proven track record managing complex events from conception through execution
Experience working closely with and supporting senior executives or leadership teams
Superior project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting needs
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing and proofreading
Self-starter, highly motivated, and self-disciplined
Ability to work with a high degree of independence while also functioning as a strong team player
Excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive information
Proficiency with Google Suite; familiarity with project management and CRM tools a plus
Ability to travel for events and convenings
Commitment to Leadership Roundtable's mission and values
Familiarity with the Catholic Church's teachings, hierarchy, and functional structure preferred

Generous holiday package including: 10 vacation, 10 sick, 20-21 holidays days per calendar year including Christmas to New Years and the 4th of July week.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
