San Juan Diego Catholic High School (SJDCHS) is in search of a dynamic leader to serve as president of the school, with a committed focus on its core values of Catholic identity, faith formation, academic excellence and stewardship. SJDCHS is a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory high school with an enrollment of 150 students, located in South Austin, minutes from downtown. Ministerial Character
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Austin are canonically obedient to the Bishop and assist him in fulfilling his ministry and canonical obligations. Pastors, presidents, and principals serve as leaders of the schools to make Christ's mission present and enduring in the schools. In order to fulfill Christ's mission, the school leaders employ suitable, chosen collaborators, sharing with them Christ's mission and entrusting to them various responsibilities.
Positions employed in this School help extend the ministry of the School leaders in particular ways as outlined in the job description. The employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the School leaders in the performance of their ministry and, therefore, engages in ministry for the Church.
Job Summary
The President fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by planning, guiding, and evaluating the development efforts of the school in fundraising, marketing, event planning, grant writing, communication, alumni affairs and public relations. The President has decision making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The position reports to and is evaluated by the Diocese of Austin Superintendent of Catholic Schools.
Essential Duties
Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
Support and adhere to the Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school.
Oversee the Corporate Internship Program (CIP) and supervise the Corporate Internship Program Director.
Oversee the Capital Campaign effort including remaining fundraising dollars, pledge redemption, and new gifts.
Work with the Principal to coordinate and collaborate effectively with the School Advisory Board.
Oversee next phase of construction.
Oversee and manage the marketing, advertising, and communication initiatives in conjunction with the enrollment management team.
Plan, guide, and evaluate grant needs and deadlines and oversee completion of grant applications.
Develop and oversee an alumni outreach program.
Oversee event planning as it relates to development at the school.
Cultivate, steward, and maintain relationships with major donors.
Plan the overall advancement program in keeping with school needs, the Strategic Plan, and budget objectives; demonstrate gains in development goals and objectives that are in keeping with the Strategic plan and budget objectives, and respond to program needs.
Oversee Advancement staff in a manner that ensures effective and efficient practices, and customer-focused work habits.
Ensure effective work practices (in compliance with school and diocesan policies, and city, county and state regulations) regarding financial accounting and reconciliation, database management, gift recording, donor acknowledgement, stewardship, and current and prospective donor records.
Meet staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese and local administration.
Conference with others upon request and respond to messages in a timely manner.
Serve as a member of the Endowment Committee as requested.
Attend and participate as needed in meetings of faculty, professional organizations, and community organizations.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited American university or equivalent in a foreign country.
Experience:
Three (3) years of full time wage-earning experience in managing professionals or a combination of education and experience in donor cultivation or sales.
Catholic Requirement:
Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
