Coordinator of Religious Education

Job Description

The Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine is currently seeking a full-time Coordinator of Religious Education for their Religious Education program. The qualified candidate will work with the Pastor and Director of Religious Education to develop, maintain, and administer the catechetical program for the parish.

He/she will be primarily responsible for coordinating and managing participant data across all catechetical programs related to Parish children/families under the direction of the Director of Religious Education, including (but not limited to) Sacramental preparation, family catechesis, home study catechesis, summer program and special needs. Contributes in an on-going manner to department planning and implementation.

BA/BS in Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, Education or related field of study or consecration in a Religious Order is desired. Additionally, a minimum of two years employment or volunteer service in catechetical ministry in the Roman Catholic Church is required. Associate's degree acceptable with at least two additional years' experience in catechetical ministry (four years total).

To effectively carry out the job, the candidate must have proven leadership skills, effective oral and written communication skills and be comfortable interacting with families and their changing needs. Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Parish Soft, Flocknote and social media and the ability to learn new programs are required. Some light lifting and extended periods of standing.

The candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing. He/she must be flexible in the work schedule, willing to work some evenings and occasional weekends. The salary offered will be based on experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is between $40,000 and $50,000 and offers a variety of benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, 403b and paid time off.
