Job Description
Good Shepherd Catholic Church and School is seeking to create a new and exciting full-time position as we work to bring Christ to all people who enter our doors. The role of Youth and Adult Evangelization Director will focus on faith formation, investing in people (with a particular emphasis on young people and families), and helping coordinate ways to encounter God and others. We believe by combining these areas of ministry, a person will have the ability to come to intimately get to know the people of Good Shepherd and journey alongside them as they deepen their Catholic faith and relationship with God.Our goal is that this person would be present at Good Shepherd 2-3 Sundays a month to assist with opportunities such as children's liturgy, volunteer sign up events and general meet and greet ministry opportunities. This role will also work to increase volunteers and parish life opportunities throughout Good Shepherd.
This role also has the unique opportunity to work alongside our Parochial Administrator, Fr. Ben Wittnebel, as we enter year two of our new youth program for middle and high school youth grades 7-12 combining a youth group experience alongside an "opt-in" Confirmation process. This program will run primarily on Wednesday evenings each week. Good Shepherd has historically had a confirmation process in grades 7-9 and would like to explore how we can not only assist our young people in receiving the Sacrament but falling in love with Christ for a lifelong relationship. This role has many opportunities to grow to support the young people of Good Shepherd and allows for creativity to connect with young people. Possible ideas include, but are not limited to service trips, retreats, Totus Tuus, small group development, sports events, etc.
Lastly, this role will provide administrative and leadership support to our faith formation department with a focus on: Family Formation and First Communion programming (which are currently supported by part-time staff). Coordination of volunteers for Children's Liturgy of the Word and general oversight of the Sunday program also included.
