Job Description

Chesterton Academy of the Incarnation is seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time high school Drama teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year to teach two 90-minute periods of Drama each week from August 2026 through May 2027. Hours and days of teaching are flexible and rate is competitive. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Drama or related field, background teaching at the high school level, a dedication to the Catholic faith in their daily lives, and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in a classical education environment.

Key Responsibilities:
-Cast, rehearse, and facilitate production of one dramatic performance each semester. Almost all rehearsals are conducted during scheduled class hours.
-Instruct students in skills related to acting and support roles (as appropriate to their role in the play) effectively and engagingly.
Assess student performance through line checks, support project completion, rehearsal participation, dress rehearsals, and final production, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
-Collaborate with fellow faculty members to create a cohesive and enriching educational experience.
-Participate in occasional all-faculty meetings
-Assist with infrequent after-school activities related to classes taught, where appropriate

Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Drama or related field or evidence of appropriate college course work
-Prior high school teaching experience is preferred but not required.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Commitment to the mission and values of Chesterton Academy.
-The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium.
