Job Description
Financial Operations ManagerAccurate billing. Reliable revenue. Numbers leadership can trust.
Who We Are
Life Advancement Group is a faith-based, pro-life nonprofit dedicated to rescuing lives from the destruction of abortion.
Our partners trust us to steward their resources well. That means the financial side of our organization has to be just as reliable as the services we provide. Every invoice needs to be right. Every contract change needs to make its way into billing. Every renewal needs to be accounted for. And when leadership looks at our revenue numbers, they need to be able to trust them.
Is This You?
You're the person who notices when the numbers don't match, and a 50-cent discrepancy bothers you enough to figure out why.
You actually like spreadsheets. You don't mind digging through Stripe to figure out why an invoice looks wrong, and there's something satisfying about reconciling two reports and getting them to match.
You're organized enough to know that a Partner's contract changes next month before someone else remembers to tell you.
You don't need someone standing over you reminding you that monthly revenue reporting is due. You know what you own, you build a system for it, and you get it done. And when something doesn't make sense, you don't guess. You ask, investigate, and get it right.
The Problem You'll Solve
As Life Advancement Group grows, billing, contracts, renewals, commissions, and revenue reporting create a lot of moving pieces.
One partner changes services. Another renews. Another pays annually. A new partner starts. Someone cancels. A team member earns a commission. Every one of those changes has to show up correctly in our billing and revenue numbers. Your job is to take ownership of those details so nothing falls through the cracks.
Leadership shouldn't have to wonder whether MRR is accurate, whether an annual partner was invoiced, whether a commission was calculated, or whether billing matches the agreement we signed.
You'll be the person who makes sure the numbers tell the real story.
What Success Looks Like:
Partner billing is accurate, every time.
Partners are billed the correct amount according to their current agreements. Billing changes happen when they should, annual invoices aren't missed, and discrepancies are caught and corrected quickly.
Leadership can trust the numbers and use them to plan ahead.
MRR is accurately calculated and projected, expected revenue is reconciled against actual revenue, and leadership has a clear picture of current and future revenue. Trends, anticipated changes, and potential gaps are identified early enough to inform planning and decision-making.
Contracts, renewals, and billing stay aligned.
Contract changes make their way into Stripe, annual billing dates are tracked, renewals aren't missed, and what we agreed to matches what we're charging.
Team commissions are completed accurately and on time.
Quarterly commission calculations and reports are accurate and ready when needed for processing.
What You'll Own Day to Day:
Partner billing and invoicing through Stripe
Setting up and maintaining partner accounts, subscriptions, products, and pricing
Reviewing invoices, processing billing changes, and resolving discrepancies
Responding to partner billing questions
Calculating, reporting, and projecting Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)
Reconciling projected and expected revenue against actual billed revenue
Building and maintaining forward-looking revenue projections based on contracts, renewals, annual payments, new partners, cancellations, pricing changes, and other known variables
Identifying revenue trends, variances, and potential shortfalls and communicating what they mean to leadership
Providing financial data and analysis to support budgeting, cash-flow planning, hiring decisions, and other organizational planning
Tracking annual-pay partners and appropriately accounting for them in MRR
Tracking contract terms, renewal dates, pricing changes, and annual billing dates
Preparing renewal agreements and contract amendments and ensuring finalized changes are reflected in billing
Calculating monthly staff commissions and preparing commission reports for leadership
Coordinating with our bookkeeper as needed
Must-Haves and Non-Negotiables:
Read these carefully. If any of them don't fit, this isn't your role.
You bring financial experience, not just billing experience. You have either 4+ years of relevant professional experience where revenue operations, financial reporting, forecasting, accounting, financial analysis, or similar responsibilities made up the majority of your role.
You are exceptionally detail-oriented. A 50-cent discrepancy bothers you enough to figure out why it's there.
You can turn financial data into useful information. You don't just calculate MRR, you can project it, identify trends and variances, and explain what the numbers mean in a way leadership can use for planning and decision-making.
You are highly proficient with spreadsheets and financial data. Reconciliations, percentages, recurring revenue, projections, and financial reporting are comfortable territory for you.
You operate with high agency. You see what needs to be done and do it. If you need someone reminding you every month that recurring responsibilities are due, you won't enjoy working here.
You take ownership. If something is wrong, you don't simply point it out. You help get it resolved.
You don't guess with financial information. If something doesn't make sense, you investigate and ask questions until you understand it.
You communicate early. If something isn't going to be completed on time or you need information from someone else, you speak up before it becomes a problem.
You can work independently. This is a remote, part-time position. You need to manage recurring responsibilities and deadlines without constant oversight.
What You'll Get:
Part-time, fully remote: Approximately 20 hours per week
Compensation: $23 - 26/hour, commensurate with experience, education, and expertise
16 hours of PTO annually
Paid holidays
Real ownership from day one. You'll be trusted to own your area rather than simply completing tasks someone else assigns.
Direct access to leadership. The financial information and analysis you provide will directly inform organizational planning and decision-making.
Mission you can connect to. Your work behind the scenes helps Life Advancement Group steward its resources well and invest them where they can have the greatest impact.
