Job Description

Saint Mark's High School, a Catholic high school committed to academic excellence and faithful to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, seeks a passionate and dynamic Theology Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, foster a love for Christ and His Church, and model Gospel values in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
• Integrate Catholic teaching across all aspects of instruction and classroom management.
• Prepare lesson plans that promote student engagement, spiritual growth, and critical thinking.
• Collaborate with fellow Theology teachers and campus ministry to support the school's spiritual mission.
• Encourage student participation in liturgical life, retreats, service opportunities, and other faith-based activities.
• Assess and evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain communication with parents regarding student performance and classroom expectations.
• Uphold the moral and ethical standards of the Catholic Church in all professional interactions.
• Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and professional development as required.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church.
• Bachelor's degree in theology, Religious Studies, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Catholic doctrine, Scripture, Church history, and morality.
Preferred:
• Master's degree in theology or related field.
• Teaching credential or certification recognized by the local diocese.
• Previous teaching experience at the high school level.
• Familiarity with the USCCB's Doctrinal Elements of a Curriculum Framework for the Development of Catechetical Materials for Young People of High School Age.
