Job Description

Holy Family Parish Campus Minister - Full Time Position

Vision: This Campus Minister works directly with the students, faculty/staff, and parents of Holy Family School to foster and build relationships, ignite and grow faith, and cultivate a culture of discipleship which, ultimately, feeds into the life of Holy Family Parish.

Position Qualifications
• A practicing Catholic, who strives to live joyfully as a missionary disciple of Jesus Christ, and who upholds the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church.
• Having a bachelor's degree in theology, religious studies, or another comparable field.
• Holding or be willing to obtain religious certification through the Lay Ecclesial Ministry Office of the Diocese of Cleveland.
• Having a strong knowledge of Catholicism - from Doctrine to Discipleship.
• Having knowledge of and/or openness to learning and teaching the Theology of the Body.
• Having the ability to communicate and collaborate with school organizations, parish leadership teams, and other area parishes.
• Having experience working with and building relationships with school-aged children.
• Having the ability to successfully pass background checks and VIRTUS certification.
• Having the ability to utilize the latest technology in a school and parish setting.

Overall
• Be present to and build relationships with the school community - students, staff, and parents.
• Coordinate 2nd Grade Sacramental Prep (First Reconciliation/Communion) for students and parents.
• Coordinate 8th Grade Sacramental Prep (Confirmation) for students and parents.
• Coordinate summer opportunities which may include summer camps or mission trips.
• Report to the Pastor and serve on the School Leadership Team.

Holy Family School Responsibilities
• Provide opportunities to help students (1-8), faculty, and parents to grow in faith and discipleship.
• Help to build a middle school youth ministry (i.e. Lifeteen Edge Program)
o This does not mean that they are the permanent coordinator.
• Coordinate annual retreats for students/teachers with the Pastor
• Serve as a resource for teachers as needed.
• Help plan weekly liturgies and seasonal Reconciliation liturgies with school and parish staff.
• Represent Holy Family at school functions (Open House, Catholic Schools Week, Athletic Events, etc.)
• Assume other responsibilities as requested.
Holy Family PSR Responsibilities
• Assist the PSR Coordinator in planning Reconciliation services, Masses and other spiritual experiences.

Parma Area High School Youth Ministry Responsibilities
• Collaborative with other area youth ministers/parishes to provide events for high schoolers.

Important to mention
• This is a full-time position with benefits.
• The position will have administrative assistance.
• The position and responsibilities will be entered into gradually, and there will be ongoing discussion about how to address the overall workload and the identifiable needs.
• In the future, a parish Director of Discipleship will also be hired. Collaboration with this position will be expected and needed.
• Flexibility is needed for evening and weekend work hours for a variety of programs and events.

The pastor and principal are both new and excited to connect more deeply with students, faculty, and families and grow discipleship that fuels the parish.
