POSITION SUMMARY
Regina Catholic Schools is seeking a mission-driven Finance Director to lead all business and financial operations for our PreK-12 system. This role oversees the Business Office, safeguards assets, ensures accurate financial reporting, and partners closely with the Head of School and Finance Committee to support responsible stewardship and long-term sustainability.
This position is ideal for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants their work to directly support Catholic education.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership
- Develop and maintain financial policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP and donor requirements.
- Prepare accurate financial statements; lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Report regularly to the Finance Committee and Board of Education serving as the School Board Treasurer; support governance and strategic planning.
- Oversee cash flow, debt management, and capital reserve planning.
Supervise core business office functions including accounts payable, payroll, benefits, insurance, and employee contracts.
Budgeting, Tuition, and Financial Aid
- Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department leaders to ensure accurate and timely information.
- Oversee tuition management, financial aid, Education Savings Accounts (ESA), and Student Tuition Organization (STO) programs.
- Partner with parishes on funding of subsidies.
Collaboration and Strategic Support
- Work closely with the Regina Foundation and school service groups on financial processes and shared initiatives.
- Coordinate with external auditors; ensure all diocesan and government reporting requirements are met.
- Provide financial insights for campus planning, sustainability efforts, and operational improvements.
Oversight of Business Operations
- Ensure the Business Office supports the fundamental operational needs of the school in coordination with the leadership team.
- Oversee insurance administration and risk-management processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of Regina Catholic Schools.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA or advanced certification preferred.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and fiscal compliance.
- Experience in 501(c)(3) financial management, payroll, tax filings, and capital project budgeting.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks.
- Exceptional integrity, organization, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with leadership, staff, and stakeholders.
- Ability to lead Business Office staff and work independently with minimal supervision.
