As a part of the Pro-Life Generation, Students for Life of America (SFLA) is seeking a new Diocesan and Church Outreach Coordinator. This position will run and help grow our Diocesan Program, the Called Initiative, to expand the reach of the Pro-Life Generation. This position is core to the relationships and outreach we do at SFLA, by partnering with dioceses across the country and implementing other SFLA national programs. This position is key to our Generational Win to establish a pro-life presence on all diocesan high schools across the country. The Diocesan and Church Outreach Coordinator will also assist in the development of Field Team materials and resources related to the Called Initiative. We are looking for someone with a background in diocesan work, drive for innovation, knack for organization, passion for ending abortion, and excitement for being a team player.
Responsibilities
Grow the Called Initiative
-Help grow our Called Initiative with the goal of establishing relationships with all 180 dioceses in our country.
-Work directly with Regional Coordinators and Campus Formation Coordinators to start SFLA groups at every diocesan high school across the country.
-Plan and implement Called programming including Respect Life Month webinar, mini conferences with dioceses, Diocesan and Church Grant, etc.
-Work with the Development Team to raise funds to support the Called Initiative.
Community Partnership
-Seek to establish strategic relationships with like-minded organizations.
-Expand our reach with dioceses and youth ministry groups.
-Brainstorm innovative solutions to connect with people of all faith backgrounds.
-Partner with dioceses to help their middle and high schools become more active in the Pro-Life Movement.
-Track activity of diocesan groups in Salesforce by maintaining ongoing reporting with diocesan contacts.
-Engage Christian middle and high schools to promote the pro-life mission and reach.
-Attend youth and Diocesan conferences to network and collect contacts.
-Host youth minister and mini summits with dioceses.
Programmatic
-Assist in updating and auditing Called resources. This includes, but not limited to:
Topic Cards
Lesson Plans
Event materials
Trainings
Diocesan Kit
Manage the content on the Called website and corresponding HQ pages, and the form submissions through those sites.
Submit new Called resource ideas to the Programs Manager for approval.
Speak at religious events, assemblies, religion classes, and other related events.
Work closely with all coordinators on the Field Team to expand the reach to dioceses within their unique regions.
Join weekly tactical meetings and Field Team calls.
Assist the Programs Manager and National Field Director with special assignments.
Qualifications
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
-Candidates must have knowledge of grammar rules and utilize the oxford comma.
-A bachelor's degree is required.
-A skill with pen, paper, and way with words!
-Experience working or volunteering within the Pro-Life Movement.
-Candidate must be good at time management and organization.
-Possess ministry or diocesan experience.
-Public speaking proficiency for settings such as classrooms, conferences and larger events.
Who Are We Looking For
-A positive attitude, good problem-solving skills, and a passion for serving in the pro-life field are a must.
-Must be teachable to learn SFLA technologies and platforms such as Salesforce.
-Candidates must be self- motivated, a good problem solver, have an entrepreneurial spirit, expert multi-tasker, maintain confidentiality, able to work independently, and be a highly organized person.
-Ability to work independently and with little direct supervision in carrying out the core functions listed above.
Position Type
-This is a full-time salaried position working at least 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours can be somewhat flexible by request.
Supervisory Responsibilities
-The Diocesan and Programs Coordinator will report to the Central Regional Manager and will collaborate with multiple departments within SFLA, without direct supervisor responsibilities.
Physical Demands
-Must have the ability to operate technical equipment such as a computer and sit for extended periods of time.
-Must be able to withstand long periods of driving.
-Other physical demands may include: setting up displays, walking around campuses, standing during display times, walking outside for long periods of time (door to door canvassing) and participating in local and national pro-life marches. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
Travel
-Travel to bi-annual team training in January and July is required.
-Travel to dioceses and various events is required. You will be traveling on average 1.5 weeks a month (40%). This is intended to establish rapport and strong relationships with dioceses.
-The Diocesan and Programs Coordinator will be expected to both drive and fly for this position.
