Job Description
Aid for Women seeks a Development Associate to boost our growing organization's communication and gift acknowledgment efforts with our donor base. This full-time position with benefits will ensure proper donation record keeping, complete our rigorous donor acknowledgement procedure and provide support to senior staff on fundraising tasks as necessary.He or she should be highly skilled at managing time independently and building professional relationships in a variety of communication media (written correspondence, phone calls, personal emails).
Due to the urgency of Aid for Women's mission and the importance of personal contact for our work, Chicago-area travel and evening/weekend hours will be required, especially for special events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Consistently complete a rigorous thank you procedure for all donors, including mailing thank you notes and making thank you calls.
Efficiently use Aid for Women's donor database to enter new donor contact records, enter donation information, and aid in identifying donor audiences to contact.
Assist with Aid for Women's donor mailing and email solicitation programs.
Assist as needed at Aid for Women events and locations.
Other duties as required by the organization.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Some office or work experience preferred (including internships).
Extremely strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Solid organizational skills, and user skills (or ability to learn quickly) with office software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
