Job Description
Title: The Learning Center (TLC) AidePosition Overview
The TLC Aide works in collaboration with the Director of the Learning Center to provide educational and behavioral support for students with special learning needs and disabilities. The TLC Aide is responsible for providing support to teachers and students with special needs in typical class settings, providing small group instruction and support in TLC, and assisting in creating modified assignments and tests for students with moderate to severe disabilities. Other TLC prep work or assignments may also be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
Be a practicing Catholic who fully adheres to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Hold or be pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.
Have coursework or experience in education or special education (preferred).
Demonstrate experience in supporting students with special needs, preferably in education settings.
Have a passion and deep care and patience for students who need extra assistance
Essential Responsibilities
Uphold and promote Saint Joseph Academy's mission, pedagogy, curriculum, and policies within the school and broader community.
Collaborate with the Director of the Learning Center to modify academic assignments and assessments for two high school students with moderate to severe special needs, ensuring timely posting on Google Classroom.
Communicate effectively with teachers to coordinate modifications, printing and scanning assignments/tests, and returning originals to teachers.
Provide flexible, in-classroom (push-in) support to students with learning difficulties, assisting teachers with accommodations, making minor modifications as needed, and supporting the class as a whole.
Deliver targeted pull-out interventions to eligible students under the guidance of the Director of the Learning Center.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Learning Center's operations.
