Generalist, Parish Evangelization Services

Job Description

The Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas is the Catholic Church in Northeast Kansas: Growing as Disciples of Jesus; Making Disciples for Jesus. We are seeking to hire a Generalist, Parish Evangelization. Under the Director of Parish Evangelization Services, the Generalist works to increase parish capacity by providing consultation services in one or more areas such as Faith Formation, Charity and Mercy (Deaf and Disabilities, multi-lingual, underserved, imprisoned, peripheries), Gospel of Life (Human Dignity & Social Justice), Marriage & Family Life, and Liturgy & Sacraments. The position is full-time 40 hours per week and performs work both onsite and remotely.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate and support Deaneries in their leadership role to build best practices for ministry services.
• Create and provide training for parish ministers in the areas of leadership, theological formation, and spiritual formation for adult leaders
• Assist in training and formation relevant to the National Competencies for Lay Ecclesial Ministers, youth ministry and intercultural competencies.
• Identify best practices; link and share with others seeking help and guidance.
• Assist with preparation and management of the annual office budget.
• Collaborate with the Director in the formulation of standards, guidelines, policies and other resources working on needs of the ministry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrate strong servant leadership while delivering Chancery support to pastors and parishes.
• Use strong verbal and/or written communication skills to exchange information clearly and concisely and deliver concepts, opinions and ideas in a professional manner.
• View service to internal or external constituents as a priority to continuously strive to meet and exceed needs, requests and expectations.
• Promote a sense of collaboration and teamwork; share information and learning; keep others informed to help promote Archdiocesan strategy and goals.
• Build constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation and mutual respect.
• Manage projects from concept to implementation; utilize resources effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, in the areas of theology, pastoral care, or related field required.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in pastoral ministry, supervised ministry and project management.
• Practicing Catholic in good standing required.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bilingual Spanish/English language proficiency preferred.
