Job Description
The Director of Technology & Audiovisual Services leads the planning, organization, integration, implementation, maintenance, security, and daily operation of all technology and audiovisual systems across the campus. This role ensures reliable IT infrastructure, classroom technology integration, event AV support, cybersecurity compliance, and strategic innovation that enhances teaching, learning, communication, and school operations.The Director supervises technology staff, manages vendors and budgets, supports faculty and students, and develops long-term technology initiatives aligned with the school's educational mission.
Success will require the Director of Technology & Audiovisual Services to work collaboratively with the Mount de Sales Academy community, have outstanding tactful written and oral communication skills, and maintain a faith- lled, professional demeanor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Information Technology Leadership
• Develop and execute the school's technology strategy and annual IT roadmap.
• Oversee all network infrastructure, wireless systems, servers, cloud services, databases, and endpoint devices.
• Manage cybersecurity practices including rewalls, access control, MFA, backups,
endpoint protection, and incident response.
• Administer user accounts, identity management, permissions, and directory services including quarterly account and access level reviews of all technology systems.
• Ensure compliance with student data privacy regulations (FERPA) and school technology policies.
• Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to support academic and administrative goals and objectives.
• Develop strategic and long-range technology plans for the school, including proposals and projects for improving IT solutions across the campus.
• Oversee, install and maintain inventory of all hardware, including personal computing (laptops, desktops, tablets, etc.) classroom technology (projectors, document cameras, etc.), printers/copiers, network devices, and other technology equipment.
• Coordinate software licensing, renewals, and vendor relationships.
• Monitor system performance and maintain high availability of critical systems.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, procedures, and best practices.
Audiovisual Services Management
• Oversee auditorium, classroom, gymnasium, and conference AV systems.
• Manage livestreaming, recording, projection, sound reinforcement, and digital signage systems.
• Coordinate technical support for assemblies, performances, graduations, athletic events, and special programs.
• Supervise installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AV equipment.
• Develop standards for classroom technology and AV integration.
• Train staff and faculty on proper use of AV systems and presentation technology.
Staff & User Support
• Supervise IT support specialists, AV technicians, and student tech assistants.
• Establish help desk procedures and service-level expectations.
• Provide professional development and technology training for faculty, staff and students.
• Support 1:1 device initiatives and student technology programs.
• Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to non-technical users.
• Collaborate with the Facilities Department on projects.
Budgeting & Administration
• Prepare and manage annual IT/AV operating and capital budgets in collaboration with the Director of Operations, the Vice Principal of Academic Affairs, and the CFO.
• Recommend purchases and technology upgrades.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
• Maintain inventory of hardware, software, and AV assets.
• Create policies and documentation related to technology usage and security.
Qualifications
Required
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational
Technology, or related eld.
• 5+ years of progressive IT experience.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience managing enterprise networks, cloud platforms, and endpoint systems.
• Knowledge of audiovisual systems, livestreaming, and event production technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings or weekends during school events as needed.
Preferred
• Experience in K-12 or independent, Catholic school environments.
• Certifications such as:
o CCNA
o MCSA
o Security-related: CISSP, and CompTIA Network+, Security+
o Microsoft, Google Workspace, or Cisco certifications
o AVIXA CTS certification
