Schedule: Full-time; Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; some evenings and weekends required.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Digital Marketing Coordinator helps manage Franciscan University's social media channels by creating engaging and effective static and video-based content, managing published content relevant to each audience, and engaging in community through comments and direct messages. This role also supports email marketing efforts to Faith & Reason subscribers and other audiences for marketing, engagement, and fundraising emails to support the mission of the University. This role is responsible for planning, executing, analyzing, reporting, and optimizing omnichannel digital marketing campaigns including influencer marketing to distinct audiences while maintaining best practices.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Creates social media content and builds content calendar aligned with Social Media Strategy that provides an online marketing presence with relevant, tailored content to targeted, segmented audiences, utilizing specific channels while also engaging in an online dialogue, responding to queries, concerns, and direct mentions.
• Supports Influencer marketing initiatives through sourcing new creators, responding to emails, negotiating terms, managing relationships, and maintaining communication and follow through of contract details.
• Supports Influencer events and initiatives through on-site event support, live content capture, influencer hospitality, and logistics support.
• Works with the digital marketing team to develop and schedule social media and email campaigns in conjunction with university-wide promotional efforts. Creates and optimizes content for multiple digital channels as needed to support various university campaigns. Responsible for creating distinct branding of our emails, copy, and social creative to each audience for distinct look and feel.
• Monitors social media analytics, platform trends, and audience insights to develop performance reports, identify emerging trends, and ensure content remains timely, relevant, and aligned with current digital marketing best practices.
• Day-to-day support of email campaigns including leading design and copy reviews, testing, segmenting audiences, scheduling deliveries, and reporting on results.
• Generates and maintains clean email marketing lists (adding people, segmenting lists, managing unsubscribes, etc.) while maintaining compliance with CAN-SPAM Act and relevant email marketing laws and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS
Must understand, support, and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:

Technical Skills
• Experience using Hootsuite or another social media scheduling and listening platform; awareness of current trends and audiences on major social media platforms.
• Intermediate skills in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or other photo editing/graphic design software or apps.
• Intermediate skills in CapCut, Premiere Pro, or other video editing software or apps.
• Experience using Slate, Mailchimp, and other major email marketing platforms.
• Knowledge of Google Analytics and tracking email landing pages utilizing UTM codes.
Non-Technical Skills & Competencies
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, iterate swiftly, and juggle multiple projects in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Excellent project management skills are necessary.
• Ability to research emerging social media trends, platform updates, audience behaviors, and peer-competitor content to ensure digital content remains timely, relevant, and strategically aligned.
• Knowledgeable on email marketing and social media best practices, technologies, and innovative trends with an eye to what other universities and Catholic organizations are doing.
• Strong communication abilities to maintain relationships and transparency between on-site and remote teams while providing excellent customer service and hospitality in digital and in-person interactions.
• Displays initiative, identifies and seizes opportunities to raise skills and/or contribution to the University and actively seeks out ways to practice and continually improve the required skills or knowledge.
• Exceptional attention to detail - - including editing, proofreading, grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
• Comfort with live content capture, storytelling, and adapting quickly to real-time opportunities.
• An understanding of CAN-SPAM Act and relevant email and social media marketing laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.

Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
• 1-2 years' work experience in marketing or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience with creating, scheduling, and posting to brand/institutional social media platforms or accounts with large public followings.
• Excellent writing skills for web (social media captions, subject lines, strong calls to action, etc.) with experience in writing for social media or email channels using appropriate conventions and voice preferred for each channel/platform.
• Demonstrated experience working with email marketing and marketing automation platforms (Slate, Mailchimp, Backer Kit, etc.).
• Experience with A/B testing, data analysis, reporting, and ability to think strategically and optimize work based on data analytics.
Workplace Factors
• Some evening and weekend hours required.
• Live event coverage requires standing and walking for periods of time.
• Sits or stands in front of computer for long periods of time.
