Job Description

The Parish of Saint Ann is currently seeking a Parish Director of Evangelization and Faith Formation to serve our mission of growing disciples within the City of Peoria's Historic South Side. The Parish Director of Evangelization and Faith Formation assists the Pastor in advancing the parish mission by leading evangelization, catechesis, and lifelong formation efforts. This role ensures that children, youth, adults, and families encounter Jesus Christ within the parish community, grow as intentional disciples, and deepen their commitment to Jesus and His Church made present at the Parish of Saint Ann. The Parish Director oversees formation programs, sacramental preparation, evangelization initiatives, and equipping ministry leaders while fostering a welcoming, missionary parish culture.

What You Will Do

Program Leadership
Foster a culture of evangelization and discipleship across all parish ministries and activities
Plan, implement, and evaluate all aspects of parish religious education including sacramental preparation (First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, Confirmation)
Oversee and support adult faith formation initiatives (Evangelical Catholic, Bible studies, OCIA, small faith groups, young-adult and youth groups, etc.)
Oversee and support liturgical ministries (altar servers and lectors) and collaborate with other leadership in overseeing, supporting, and collaborating with our ministry of care to homebound parishioners, expectant mothers, and other individuals in moments of joy and sorrow.

Sacramental Preparation
Collaborate with clergy, catechists and parents to prepare candidates and families for sacraments in grades kindergarten-8th grade on Sundays during our CCD apostolate.
Coordinate and lead Order of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC).
Coordinate and lead Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA)

Communication & Administration
Edit and publish the weekly parish church bulletin.
Keep up to date parish census and welcome new members
Communicate program schedules and activities through bulletin, website, and social media
Develop and manage the budget for faith formation programs
Work collaboratively with the parish staff, local school staff, and diocesan offices

What You Need

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing, with a deep commitment to the Church's mission of evangelization
Education: Bachelor's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, education, or a related field
Experience: 3+ years of experience in a ministry, apostolate, or educational setting
Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing ministries or apostolates
Proven ability to work effectively in teams and foster partnerships across ministries and parishes
Public speaking experience
Additional studies or a certification in theology, catechetics, or a similar field
Bilingual

Physical and Work Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift and carry materials related to ministry programs (such as books, teaching materials, or supplies) up to approximately 20-25 pounds.
Ability to move about parish facilities including classrooms, offices, meeting spaces, and church buildings.

Compensation
Part-time hourly range: $22 - $28 per hour

Benefits for Eligible Part-Time Employees
Paid Leave in accordance with the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act (1 hour earned for every 40 hours worked, up to 40 hours per year)
