St. Theresa the Little Flower, located just outside historic Charleston and nestled near South Carolina's breathtaking coastline, is seeking a courageous and faithful Director of Youth Ministry. We are a rapidly growing, bilingual community grounded in the Eucharist, devoted to the Church's teachings, and hungry to see the next generation rise up as bold, joyful witnesses to Christ-no matter the cost.
This position is more than event planning; it is a call to spiritual fatherhood or motherhood, discipleship, and sacrificial love. Our youth ministry is centered on helping teens encounter Jesus Christ, fall in love with the beauty of the Catholic Church, and take their place in the mission of salvation with holy fearlessness. The ideal candidate will be a humble leader with a heart for discipleship and a willingness to serve wherever needed in the parish community, including occasional support with office tasks or parish operations.

Responsibilities Include:
Lead and build a current High School youth ministry program (with 50+children) that prioritizes prayer, formation, and evangelization over performance and entertainment.

Establish a Middle School program that will feed into the current High School program.

Walk alongside teens through the joys and struggles of their faith journey, pointing them always to the Cross and the Sacraments.

Organize regular youth nights, service projects, retreats, and opportunities for mission and witness.

Develop and mentor a team of adult volunteers with the same zeal for forming saints and living the Gospel radically.

Collaborate with the Pastor and Director of Religious Education in service to the whole parish community.

Encourage youth participation in parish life, liturgy, and leadership.

Qualifications:
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, fully aligned with the Magisterium.

Bachelor's degree in Theology, Catechetics, Education, or related field (required).

Previous experience in youth ministry or pastoral work (preferred).

Passion for the New Evangelization and a heart for missionary discipleship.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead.

Safe Environment clearance and background check required.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
