Job Description

Position Summary:
The Associate Director for Marriage and Family Life oversees sacramental marriage preparation, marriage enrichment events, baptism preparation for the English-speaking community and Sacramental Recording. Supports the Liturgy and Sacramental activities of the Parish.

Key responsibilities: (day-to-day job functions)
• Handles all marriage inquiries for the English-speaking community, meets with couples, schedules resources and clergy, sets up the Fully Engaged premarital inventory, prepares and submits diocesan sacramental marriage paperwork, and post-marriage sacramental recording. Recruits, trains and oversees marriage ministry volunteers for Fully Engaged and wedding rehearsal/day activities.
• Schedules and coordinates annual marriage enrichment event(s) for engaged and married couples.
• Is responsible for all aspects of baptism planning and preparation for the English-speaking community: scheduling, parent and godparent formation, godparent paperwork, baptism supplies and post-baptism sacramental recording.
• Oversees sacramental records for all sacraments according to the requirements of canon law and the Diocese of Raleigh: paperwork, recordkeeping, correspondence, guidelines. Recruits, trains and supervises/supports sacramental records volunteers. Fulfills all incoming sacramental record requests. Prepares the Sacramental Registry for the annual Dean's visit.

Additional qualifications/requirements:
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills.
* Works well with pastoral sensitivity and collaboration in a dynamic environment.
• Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
• Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Willingness to learn parish-specific software
• Manifests a personal commitment to the teachings and life of the Roman Catholic Church.
