Summer Internship-Office of Missionary Discipleship

Job Description

The Office of Missionary Discipleship & Evangelization is seeking a motivated college student to serve as a Summer Intern supporting multiple ministries within the diocese. This position offers hands-on experience in diocesan leadership, parish support, event coordination, communications, and evangelization strategy.
The intern will work directly with the Director and ministry leaders to help strengthen parishes across Northwest Indiana and advance the mission of forming missionary disciples.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in planning and executing diocesan events, trainings, and leadership gatherings
• Support parish-facing initiatives through resource development and follow-up
• Help coordinate communications, including social media, email, and digital content
• Assist with administrative and organizational support across ministries
• Contribute to event logistics, hospitality, and on-site coordination
• Capture and organize media content (photos, basic video, recap materials)

Formation & Professional Development
• Weekly mentoring meetings with the Director
• Participation in staff prayer and meeting on Mondays
• Exposure to diocesan leadership conversations
• End-of-summer evaluation and professional feedback
This internship is designed to develop both practical ministry skills and personal leadership growth.
Qualifications
Required:
• Current college student or recent graduate
• Practicing Catholic in good standing
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks
Preferred:

• Experience in parish or campus ministry
• Familiarity with digital media or graphic design tools
• Event coordination experience
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

Summer term (8-12 weeks)
20-29 hours per week (some evenings/weekends required)
Stipend-paid position
Background check and Safe Environment training required
