Department: Chapel Ministries / Franciscan Life
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., some evenings and weekends required.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Coordinator of Music Ministry supports the mission of Franciscan Life by assisting in the coordination, formation, and day-to-day life of the University's Music Ministry.

Working closely with and under the guidance and supervision of the Coordinator of Music Ministry, the University Chaplain, and the Director of Ministry Formation and Vision Integration, the Assistant Coordinator contributes to forming student leaders, supporting worship needs across campus, and fostering a unified, Spirit-filled culture within Music Ministry.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist in the formation of Music Ministry team leads through weekly formation gatherings and one-on-one mentorship and accompaniment as appropriate. Support the ongoing formation of all Music Ministry members through monthly formation sessions and team-based formation as needed. Contribute to the planning and execution of workshops related to music, liturgy, and worship leadership, fostering both spiritual growth and practical skill development within the ministry.
2. Assist in the launch of each semester of Music Ministry, including the coordination of orientation and leadership training, the Ministry Fair and auditions, and the Music Ministry Retreat. Support the organization of logistics and communication for events, rehearsals, and formation environments, helping ensure clarity, consistency, and a well-executed ministry experience.
3. Under the direction of the Director of Ministry Formation and Vision Integration, provide support for the Festival of Praise team and the weekly Tuesday Praise team. Assist in accompanying and supporting team members musically, pastorally, and personally, fostering growth in the skills and dispositions necessary for leading worship. Help cultivate unity, strong communication, and a spirit of collaboration between individual teams and the broader Music Ministry.
4. Lead or assist in worship for University Masses, Holy Hours, campus events, and other ministry needs, helping to support consistency and continuity across worship environments. Continually grow in confidence, skill, and leadership as a worship leader, contributing to prayerful, well-integrated, and spiritually fruitful worship experiences.
5. Assist in the coordination and execution of the Summer Music Ministry Internship, including participation in the selection of interns and supporting their overall experience and formation. Contribute to creating an environment that fosters growth in both practical ministry skills and spiritual maturity throughout the internship.
6. Assist in cultivating and sustaining a healthy communal and spiritual culture within Music Ministry, contributing to an environment marked by unity, prayer, and ongoing formation. Provide input, feedback, and support toward the development of formation initiatives, training resources, and mentorship structures. Grow in a deepening understanding of the vision and mission of Franciscan Life/Chapel Ministries and the role Music Ministry plays in advancing it across campus.

REQUIREMENTS
